In Slumber Soft..
Sleep my angel, rest your eyes,
upon my lap, your head now lies...
My hands are softly in your hair,
soothing worries, easing cares...
I know you did not want to sleep,
In silent steps....exhaustion creeps..
but listen soft, when tiredness calls..
your body, into slumber falls....
Perhaps in dreams, we both shall walk,
our hearts as one, no need to talk,
we may have even danced a while,
and shared our love within a smile....
The world is ours, as sleep reclaims,
your weary form, though here remains.
The magic you and I, both seek,
surrounds us, as your body sleeps...
So slumber soft, and I will be here,
as light from morning skies appear.
The sun will rise, a new day dawns...
as you awake, and stretch, and yawn.
Refreshed once more, you are renewed,
Vague dreams of our sweet interlude,
whirl in your head, like mist.... then thins,
I watch over you, as your day begins...
